
Since February 2006, Guy Vézina is Director General of Defence R&D Canada Valcartier (DRDC Valcartier) which work carries out defence and security achievements for the Canadian Forces in Protection and Combat Systems, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems, and Command and Control Systems. He also acts as Scientific Advisor for the Army.
Over the years he has been active with national and international organizations including the NATO Research & Technology Organization, The Technical Cooperation Program, CRIM (Centre de recherche informatique de Montréal) and Université Laval. In the scope of his various functions, he represented the Department of National Defence with respect to R&D cooperation with the Communications Security Establishment, the Canadian Space Agency, and the US and Allied Space Programs.
He holds a PhD from the Australian National University. A Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from University Laval, Quebec. He has also worked five years at CSIRO, the Australian national S&T organization.
